The philosophy of Desmond College is such that it recognises, supports and endeavours to accommodate the right of the student to learn in an educationally conducive environment and regardless of innate ability, family or social circumstances, endeavours to ensure that the educational, emotional, spiritual, psychological and moral welfare of each individual student is provided for, encouraging at all times the co-operation and assistance of the parents/guardians of the student.
Each student is encouraged to participate to the fullest possible extent in the social, physical and cultural activities of the school, so that, on completion of his/her formal second level education, he/she may emerge as a self-disciplined, responsible and well adjusted citizen, capable of playing an active and positive role in modern society.
