Exciting times lie ahead for the staff and students of Desmond College, who will proudly present “Hairspray – The Musical”, in association with Over The Rainbow School Of Dance.
Preparations are in full swing for this “not to be missed” musical extravaganza. Featuring the style and soundtrack of the swinging 60’s, we can guarantee that the audience will be rocking in their seats!
Featuring big musical numbers such as “Nicest Kids in Town” and “You Can’t Stop The Beat”, you won’t be disappointed!
A cast of over 30 students are involved in the staging of the show and will feature in a variety of roles. Roisin Nolan stars as Tracy Turnblad, alongside Clodagh O’Keefe who appears as Tracy’s dorky friend Penny Pingleton.
Sixth year student, Diarmuid Curtin, portrays teenage heartthrob Link Larkin. Orla Wrenn takes to the stage as the selfish and bratty Amber Von Tussle, daughter of Velma, who is played by Breda Magner.
The exciting character of Corny Collins will be played by Patrick Kenneally and Darragh Collins debuts as the talented dancer, Seaweed. These budding stage stars will be supported by a talented array of all singing, all dancing students from various year groups.
So, if you are looking for a way to shake off the Winter blues, please join us on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th November in Desmond College, at 7pm. We promise to take you back to the 1960’s and have plenty of laughs along the way!
